Have you ever had your hair and makeup professionally done and it did not turn out how you expected? Your makeup did not blend well, or your hair fell flat? It happens all too often, but here I have my hair and makeup artists Jazmin, America, and Klaudia provide their top beauty tips for a flawless photoshoot look!
Exfoliate the night before to soften your skin! It helps the makeup go on smoother and have a more flawless finish. My favorite exfoliant is Olehenriksen Transforming Walnut Scrub!
MOISTURIZE! MOISTURIZE! You should always be moisturizing but it is
crucial that in the days leading up to your shoot to moisturize your skin with serums/creams and by drinking lots of water. It makes a worlds difference! My personal favorite moisturizer is Dior’s Hydra Life Hydration Rescue Intense Sorbet Crème.
Make sure to wash your hair the night before the photoshoot, not the day of! The style holds better with dirtier hair.
Get a facial if you want to splurge! I personally LOVE getting a dermaplane. Getting a dermaplane a day or two prior to your makeup appointment is amazing because your skin will be baby smooth and leaves you with a radiant glow.
Use your favorite face mask the night before so you wake up with radiant plump skin for a beautiful makeup application. My personal favorite masks
are Ole Henriksen Cold Plunge Pore Mask. It is great for larger pores and helps smooth your skin followed by Summer Friday’s Jet Lag Mask. It provides amazing hydration and you can even leave it on overnight and
your skin wakes up feeling incredibly soft and smooth. Don’t forget about your lips! Laneige Lip sleeping mask is incredible!
Use a hair mask the day before! It is all about healthy hydrated skin and hair. My favorite hair mask is IGK Offline 3 minute Hydration Hair Mask It hydrates and restores hair.
Don’t forget to care for your body, as well as face and hair. My favorite daily moisturizer is Dream Cream by LUSH – it really leaves the skin feeling and looking like a dream! There are few things sexier than soft glowing skin! Ask your artist to enhance your collar bones, shoulders or legs with highlighter if they’ll be visible in photos.
Another way to prep for an appointment is by doing some research on your desired look. It doesn’t have to be specific but having a few photos to convey the general feel of what you’re going for will be helpful. From there, your artist will be able to create the same mood while taking your features into consideration and create the best possible style for YOU.
